You will never run out new experiences when on vacation at a tropical island and indeed, there are many things to do in Koh Samui, the beautiful Thai isle along the Gulf of Thailand. The stunning island is surrounded by many other islands and pristine beaches ideal for swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving. Koh Samui has several popular dive sites to choose from that vary in depth and beauty.

From the depths of the Thai seas to the top of the hills, Koh Samui is a remarkable place that provide you with white sand beaches, tropical trees aligning the shores, exotic plants and animals, cheerful locals, luxurious and charming resorts and mouth-watering cuisines from all over the globe. One can swim in the water of one of the crystal clear beaches, trek the jungles on top of an elephant, visit beautiful temples, meditate in secret gardens, get up close and personal with a tiger and enjoy a breathtaking view of Koh Samui and its neighbouring islands spurting amongst the calm blue ocean.

Yes, one of the things to do in Koh Samui that should not be missed is to reach the peak of a mountain and take in the awesome scenery. The journey to the top is in itself an experience, trekking through the jungle and seeing plants and animals you have never seen before and might never see again will be a unforgettable experience. Everything is pure and natural- an adulterated beauty.

As sight- seeing is one of the most fascinating things to do in Koh Samui, it is important to know the different viewpoints on the island. Among these are Chaweng; Beverly Hills located between Lamai and Chaweng; National Marine Park; Samui Everest, Woodland Park View; Samui Gallery Hill; View Top; Best Mountain View Point; Samui Bayview over Chaweng from Samui Bayview Villa and several other mountain views along the island. Most of these viewpoints can only be reached by a professional hiker or via a 4X4 vehicle.

To make your journey to the top more enjoyable, taking a safari tour that has the view of the whole island as its last stop might be a good thing to consider trying. A safari tour usually includes a trek through the jungle, a stopover at the Buddha Secret Garden, Namuang Waterfalls, the temple of the mummified monk, the Grandfather and Grandmother rocks and other stops. But the view is of course the most rewarding experience and must not be excluded from yourl list of great things to do in Koh Samui.
